I just wish it would save all my runs!
I just wish it would save all my runs!
Wish it worked as well as the 10K, should have checked to see its last update before purchasing. Loved the 10K, this one is like a wish version of it.
It won’t let me cancel
I like this app for the training recommendations and cadence of lung runs vs tempo runs. I docked a star as it doesn’t allow you to log partial workouts. If you don’t complete the entire time then it won’t record the run.
I completed the Fitness22 5k and 10K trainers and those two apps were identical as far as I could tell (distances notwithstanding). This 21k trainer app not the same as those 2 apps. The audio sounds different (less crisp, I would say possibly even distorted), the cues options are different (no options for every 5 min. marks), and it doesn’t work on silent mode with your phone as far as I can tell. This app also recommends running-off days to do strength training and gives a couple of examples for workouts and if you have certain other apps of theirs it might sync with it (I don’t have those apps so I can’t confirm). If this were the 21k version of the 5/10k trainer apps, in my opinion it would be 5-stars. I haven’t completed this program yet but this far I’m not impressed. Will I continue with the app? Probably.
I’ve used the 5k and 10K and they were great but they haven’t synced this one with the Apple Watch so you have to carry your phone with you to run which doesn’t work on these longer distances as I’m carrying water etc. and I don’t do a big phone like this with an arm band. They would be 5 stars if you could use your watch. Same as the 10K pacer
Unlike previous versions of different distance trainers from this developer the audible cues in this version only work randomly. Unfortunately you have to carry your phone in your hand and constantly watch the timer.
The app is not compatible with Apple Watch and is doesn’t consistently save workouts.
Loved the 5k and 20k versions. The 21k version saves some of my runs but deletes others. I just finished a run, made sure it recorded and saved. Then I hard closed the app and the/opened. Run was gone. It has done this for most of my runs using this app.
Every day my progress is wiped clean, stats gone.
I never thought I could get into running until I found this series of apps. Started with the 5k and now here I am on the 21K. I never would’ve believed it. Try it!
I have used the 5k & 10K Runner and loved them. I recommend them all of the time to new runners. However, the 21K Runner is glitchy. I have deleted and reinstalled just to be sure it is up to date. 1. My runs are not saved. I will complete a day of a run and it’s is in my history, however when I return the next today to choose that days run or rest almost all the runs are no longer checked off as complete. I try to manually go back and enter that “Did It” and it appears to work until the next day and they’re all gone again. This is super annoying when you’re trying to stay on track and aren’t sure what hat day you’re on. 2. The voice prompts are glitchy in that they don’t always prompt during a run. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t. If it weren’t for my watch sometimes I wouldn’t even know there was a prompt. My ringer is not turned off so there isn’t any reason I can find for this to happen. 3. Unlike the other two apps there are rest days to check off. That is the most annoying thing. Especially when it doesn’t save that you’ve done it. Remove the rest days. Just instruct people to test every other day or do a strengthening workout on no run days but PLEASE remove the rest days. It feels inconsistent and I know there is a method for short run, interval run, long run. Knowing this helps me plan my runs but it took me too long to figure out the rhythm because of the rest days and random 2 days of rest which I really dislike. As I said, I loved the previous app but this one isn’t working out like I’d hoped and I am on the lookout now for a better one.
This app worked great for a while but the last two weeks, every single run gets deleted so I have no way to track overall miles or see my run history, I’ve reached out through the app support team multiple times and have not heard back
Love this app. Got me to my goals
The app keeps losing my running history. I’ve sent numerous emails to the authors , no response.
Started out liking this app. Pros: -Good, easy to follow training plan Cons: -Will not save runs. I’m on week 10 and it completely stopped saving my runs, I have to remember where I left off. Very frustrating. -Does not work with Spotify, so the voice commands won’t play over my music. Luckily, I have an Apple Watch which will vibrate with the notification from the app.
This app isn’t as good as 5k and 10k. Like other people are saying, it’s been deleting runs that have already been completed. It also doesn’t intergrate well and doesn’t announce to AirPods like the others did.
The app has deleted my runs close to 10 times. I tried adding them back in over and over and over. It continues to delete a significant amount of my data. I can not begin to express how discouraging it is to be tracking progress and working toward a goal and then to have that progress be deleted so there is no way to review it. I want my money back now!
I’m not sure what happened but all of a sudden my runs are no longer being saved into my app. I am having to screen shot or share them to keep track of my runs. Bummer since I paid for this app to keep track of total miles and past workouts.
I’ve gone from couch to 5k, 5k to 10k, and now this app. As a mom of a baby I don’t have the ability to go to the gym so with a jogging stroller and a good diet I have been able to lose 30 lbs.
I loved couch to 5k and 5k to 10k but this is just not working for me. I preferred the three run regimen and this is just really throwing off my progress.
Why is this app not compatible with the Apple Watch? The 5k and 10k apps were.
10K Runner was a good app that got me to 10K as promised. This app, on the other hand, is garbage! It doesn’t integrate with the Apple Watch, it gives you almost no feedback, and it doesn’t keep track of your pace—all in all, it’s a waste of money. I had to keep another app going simultaneously to keep track of things. I just switched to Runtracker to get me from 10K to 21K. I’m going to challenge the charge for 21K Runner because it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do and it actually has fewer features than 10K Runner, which at least integrated with my Apple Watch.
I’ve trained for 5K and 10K successfully using this app. Now training for half marathon with the 21K. Big fan. Thank you.
Just follow this app and you will get to your half marathon distance. I’ve used the Fitness 22 5k, 10K and some workout apps. ALL are great and lead you to success. Definitely worth every penny.
I loved the 10K training app it synced up with my Apple Watch and was amazing! So now that I’m training for a half I thought I would try the 21K app. Very disappointed it doesn’t sync to my watch! I would give this app 5 stars if it would sync to my watch. Going to start looking for a new app today
I really like how affordable this
This has the best approach to getting to running a full 5k. So glad I found this app.
I used and loved the 5k and 10K app. This one is glitchy, freezing up every time I use it and doesn’t save my runs properly. That’s disappointing.
The bug is that the app freezes about 15 - 20% of the time at the end of a run, such that so I don’t know my distance or time, nor are my miles recorded. The app freezes with exactly one second remaining, after the coach voice says “Great job! See you again in a couple of days.“ This bug seems to happen especially on the “Day 1” of each week, but I’ve had it happen on other days including Day 6 — the longest run — when it was particularly infuriating to not know how far I had run. I contacted the app developers months ago about this bug and they recommended I make sure my iPhone was up-to-date with the latest operating system; it was. This bug is a total bummer, for I otherwise love this app and wouldn’t hesitate to give it five stars. But the bug is a tremendous source of frustration. [Incidentally I also used the 5K & 10K apps (which are excellent) and never had this issue.] ‘Hope they get the bug fixed!
Just running, time, map and distance. No other distractions. Helpful planned out workouts
1 out of every 3 workouts wind be saved at the end. The timer would reach 0 the whole app would freeze and then crash. It takes a few resets to get the app to work again. Only thing that would be saved is that I did the work out but the distance, path, and calories burned would not be saved. I haven’t had this problem with the 5k or 10K app. I reached out to them and they said it is not a common problem and I should reinstall the app which I did to no avail. It is disheartening to have your workouts disappear like that.
These apps have been a huge source of focus through the pandemic! Allowing me to crush goals!!
I typed in “ Free half marathon training apps”, and this one came up. $8.00 isn’t exactly free!
I loved these apps, and have been using them for years. I have many of them from this developer. Tapped in today to see I now have to pay for a subscription to this app, when I’ve already purchased the full version long ago. No thank you. Deleting, after years of being a loyal customer. There is no reason to pay for a 6 month plan or another $15 for an unlimited version when I already paid to go pro and nothing is changing on the app. Sad, because I loved the program, but don’t like being nickeled and dimed.
Overall I’m satisfied with this app. When running outside it gives a good enough estimate of distance. I like that it’s time-based, not distance based training. Haven’t had any issues with it not notifying me of alerts. It does have one major flaw though. To scroll through the different workouts you have to drag the bar on the bottom of the screen. This bar also has a check box that gets filled when you complete a workout. It is very easy to accidentally check or uncheck these boxes and permanently delete a workout. There is no equivalent manual entry - the one that exists doesn’t allow you to put distance, map, or calories burned - and no recovering the lost information. For this reason I’ve given the app 3 stars. There is also no way to view upcoming workouts other than scrolling through day by day which increases the risk of accidentally deleting one if you (like me) like to plan ahead. A calendar view would help this issue, and a “double check” feature would help the other one and if the app includes these changes in a future update it will be 5 stars for me for sure.
So I just completed my first half marathon I started with the 5k one then 10K and finally purchased the half marathon . When I started I couldn’t run for more than 6 mins without feeling like I was about to die and just this weekend I ran 13 miles that’s crazy
Awesome program. Easy to follow and stay on track Good for all levels of runners
Overall it’s a great app for training for a half marathon. As with their other running apps, a heart monitor option would put this app at 5 stars. Other small additions that would make this better m, a separate distance measure for total running time, right now you get a total of warms ups and running. No separation. Also instructions on pace. Are my short running days supposed to be race pace or half pace or sprint pace? I would recommend this app to any would be runner.
Please add a watch app like you have in the 5k app.
Well being a new mom, I can’t always leave the house. This app actually helped me train for my half a marathon on treadmill while my baby took naps. I also use their other apps couch to 5K & 10K... you have to put the time into it for it to work.
Ive used several apps for running half marathons. I thought I would try this one. First day, I stopped to get a sip of water, it paused, wouldn’t resume and locked up. Thank goodness I only had roughly 5 minutes left. Doesn’t show me my route, Or my time per minute which is super important considering I plan on improving my time this upcoming run.
I’d give this 0 stars if I could. I wasted 7.99.
My only draw back to this app is that it counts all of your time not just the run. So, if I want to know my pace I use another app. It basically makes me look slower than I am because there is 10 min. of walking with every run.
I really wish this would work on my Apple Watch and that the notifications would happen when my screen is off. The app doesn't tell me when to run or cool down. Frustrating
Love this app for training for my half marathon so far. I like how it mixes things up and tells you when to start and stop. Also works with your music player without much interruption.
I’m brand new to this app. And I’m either doing something wrong or it’s just not possible to see how far you’ve run while you’re running. I like to get 1/2 mile notices and def. one mile notices. I’ll have to run Map My Run at the same time as this app. To get those features. Probably should have just upgraded the Map my run app. Update: and the app should let you manually log in your miles when you use a treadmill.
LIVE this app! Training for my first Half Marathon. Love that it focuses on time as opposed to distance!
I tried the couch to 5k and moved on to the half marathon. It works. It’s easy to follow and has really helped train me to run my first marathon. Totally recommend.
